  3.   GenMsg can function nicely with D'Bridge, and is a suitable replacement 
  4. for the D'B Internal Editor, and/or can used as an "alternate" message 
  5. viewer/editor envoked from a Function Key.
  6.  
  7.   GenMsg will generate the files D'Bridge uses to determine if/what message 
  8. bases need to be scanned for new messages.  It will also handle the D'Bridge 
  9. files used to flag that Net and Echomail is waiting.
  10.  
  11.   To use it with D'Bridge you must have one of the following ENVIRONMENT 
  12. variables:  DB=<path_to_DB>, -or- DBRIDGE=<path_to_DB>, set, and the 
  13. "DBridge=On" variable set in your GenMsg configuration file.

  15.   The ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE can be set by adding a line to your Autoexec.bat 
  16. file such as:

  18. Set DB=C:\COMM\DB
  19.  
  20.   Configuring GenMsg is done in the GenMsg.ini file, the variable must be 
  21. set to on in this manner:

  23. ; Optional, enables D'Bridge interface.

  28.   To setup for use with D'Bridge, configure GenMsg for use from DOS, with 
  29. your path such that GenMsg can be envoked from the D'B directory, then 
  30. configure D'Bridge for calling it from either the ALT-E (invoke editor) 
  31. command or from a Function Key assignment.

  34. FUNCTION KEY ASSIGNMENT:
  35.   This is done from the ADVANCED setup menu, Function-Keys assignments.  
  36. Select which function key to assign for calling GenMsg, and configure it to 
  37. call GenMsg in this manner:

  42. ALT-E ASSIGNMENT:
  43.   GenMsg can also be installed in place of the Internal Editor.  To do this 
  44. you use the "Setup Editor" Menu of D'B.  The setup values should be:

  46. EMAIL editor: Other
  47. Rebuild queue: Yes
  48. Scan ECHOmail: Yes
  49. DOS commands:+GenMsg

  52.   The plus-sign "+" prefix causes D'Bridge to provide the maximum amount of 
  53. memory for use by GenMsg.  This very is important if you will be using the 
  54. PGP interface, as PGP requires as much memory as possible.  If you do not 
  55. use PGP, and the editor you use with GenMsg does not require much memory, 
  56. you may not require the plus-sign prefix, but it would even then be prefered 
  57. in most cases.
